Axis Host DIY Day

Axis recently worked in partnership with The Property Services team at Southern Housing Group to deliver a DIY Day for residents at Durrington in Worthing.

The free event gave residents the opportunity to learn basic DIY and decorating skills including tiling, plastering, painting and basic maintenance techniques. At the end of the event, residents were each given a bucket of tools and equipment to take away with them to help get started on their own jobs at home.

The event proved to be a fantastic success with all 5 participating residents providing very positive feedback. One of the residents said: “The workshop was delivered very well. The men clearly know what they are talking about and have been doing it for years but they explained everything in a way that I could understand”.

The project is part of an on-going programme to support residents living in the Durrington area to become more confident in carrying out decorating and repairs works at home. Due to the success of the event, the team are looking to hold a second DIY day in the upcoming months.
