New Contract Win with Gateway Housing Association

Axis was awarded an external repair and redecoration contract covering 58 properties for Gateway Housing Association.

The 5-month project was valued at £1.1 million and started in October 2018. The works were split across 34 properties at Constant House and 24 properties at Holmesdale House, both in Poplar, East London. The scope of services included window replacements, redecorations to communal areas and the replacement of walkway and stairwell coverings.

Gateway Housing Association manages 3,000 homes across East London. They are the largest provider of sheltered housing in Tower Hamlets and also provide housing in the London Boroughs of Newham and Hackney. Constant House and Holmesdale House are neighbouring residential blocks of flats located on Poplar High Street. Our services provided continuous improvements to the windows, doors and external areas of the properties, resulting in a more functional and attractive living space for residents.

Due to the site’s proximity to the high street, Axis implemented a safe system so as not to impede pedestrians and traffic whilst they undertook the works.  For instance, we used elevated platforms as opposed to scaffolding in order to minimise intrusion.
