Subcontractor & Supplier Opportunities

We value our people and believe in the importance of ensuring all of our partners are paid correctly and on time. All suppliers are paid on a 30-day term against the invoice date. Subcontractors can choose from the following payment types:

• 30 days with 2.5% Early Payment Discount
• 14 days with 5% Early Payment Discount

Some of Axis’s divisions and contracts may carry different terms, but these would be negotiated before work starts.

All of our subcontractors must provide CIS verification for all company partners and give evidence of any assessments of accreditations that the business has passed (CHAS, Safe Contractor, Exor etc.).

Businesses must also provide their Health and Safety Policy, in addition to information about who is responsible for Health and Safety. Risk assessments are also required during the application process.

For services that include any aspect of gas, electrics, asbestos or scaffolding, businesses must also demonstrate the associated trades and confirm to the credential to supply them. Businesses providing these services must also ensure that their operatives have the valid qualifications for their relevant trade. These are stated specifically for Gas (Gas Safe), Electric (NECCEIC) or Scaffold (CISRS).

All businesses wishing to subcontract for Axis must also ensure that any operative or subcontractors working on behalf of Axis have been DBS checked. Anyone carrying out onsite work on behalf of Axis must also possess a valid CSCS card that is carried at all times when working with us.

We also ask that all businesses joining our subcontractor fleet support our Training Levy, whereby 2% is deducted from all payments. This pool of funds contributes to training and apprenticeship programmes which play a crucial role in our work to tackle the labour shortage.

You’ll be prompted to upload documents relevant to the trade or service your company provides to complete your application. Common documents required include:

• Company registration and VAT certificate
• Proof of residence
• Insurance certificates
• Safety documents
• Trade accreditations

We work with Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partners. We require our suppliers to provide proof of public/products liability and withhold insurance that adequately covers the work type and value undertaken. Businesses providing supplier services must also comply with the Equality Act 2010, the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and GDPR.

Subcontractors are those that provide us with trades and services. This can include plumbers, roofers and scaffolders. Suppliers on the other hand provide physical products, goods or services that facilitate the services that we provide. Printer, window manufacturers, and timber merchants would be examples of suppliers that play a key role in facilitating the work that we carry out.

All of our suppliers must be pre-qualified, before contributing to our supply chain. To become a partner within our supply chain, you must first register as a supplier via the Axis Sub-Hub. This online process is quick and easy. You will need to submit some information about yourself and your business, including your trading name, insurance and accreditations as well as details outlining the products or services that you can supply.
