Project Details

Axis undertook extensive science lab refurbishment works for the University of Greenwich. The Nelson Science Laboratory and surrounding rooms are located at the university’s Medway Campus in a historic part of Chatham, Kent.

Our public sector division took on a scope of works that included internal redecorations. This included the renewal of the flooring, as well as installing a new suspended ceiling. We also removed the existing fume cupboards. After replacing these, the team renewed all of the disused piping. The project also included fitting classroom shelving and carrying out minor electrical adaptations with relevant NICEIC Certificates issued.

Our team carried out all of the works within a Specialist Specification and took place during the academic term. This meant that the project required a sensitivity to the environment and careful observation of working hours. We planned and programmed the works with the utmost professionalism since all surrounding rooms within the busy university building were occupied by staff and students. This meant we were able to complete the science lab refurbishment project with minimal disruption.
