Teaching New DIY Skills to Brentwood Residents
DIY Workshop on Saturday 15th of October
In partnership with Brentwood Borough Council, we held a DIY workshop on Saturday 15th of October for residents to learn new skills to be able to fix things in and around their homes.
After successfully delivering a DIY workshop in April, the client asked Luke Bradley, Supervisor if he would be willing to come back and share his expertise with some more keen residents!
The workshop took place in a void property, with 5 residents attending eager to learn. Luke was joined by James Gillingham, Apprentice Multitrader who helped demonstrate several DIY skills to the attendees so they could get a better understanding, before trying out the activities for themselves. Activities included: how to remove and avoid damp and mould, how to unblock WC, basin and sink, how to prepare and paint walls, mastic replacement, how to change a front door lock and handle, and how to ease and adjust kitchen units and doors.

Whilst watching a video helps if you have a home repair project you aren’t sure how to tackle, having someone talk you through the process whilst you have a go yourself gives you confidence in your own ability and teaches you skills that could save you money and improve your home.
