Axis Alongside Swan Attend Essex Pride Celebration for the First Time.

Essex Pride is an annual celebration of LGBT life in Essex and beyond. Since 2003 the event has been a cornerstone to showcasing Essex’s successful approach to diversity and inclusion. Axis joins the celebration by donating £500 towards the event.

On Saturday 15th June Axis attended Essex Pride for the first time. We sponsored £500 towards the event and were in attendance alongside our clients at Swan.

The event was an opportunity for Axis to show that we stand by our core values of equality and solidarity. Axis’ second value is “everyone deserves respect” and the fifth being “harmony, cooperation, and openness helps build strong relationships”.

The team, led by IT Team Manager Gaz Fraser-Mehet, celebrated these values with the attendees, whilst also handing out DIY flyers about simple repairs and answering questions about the company.

The celebration has taken place annually since 2003, where it was hosted by a select group of LGBT friendly bars. However, in 2009, as the level of attendance grew. The organisers of Essex pride moved the event to Chelmsford park, the number of people celebrating is in the thousands.

Gaz commented said:

The team and I had a great day attending Essex Pride with our client Swan. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to increase our brand awareness and to promote our partnerships with Swan. The Axis stand had a lot of visitors asking who Axis were and what we do. There was a huge interest in the Axis Foundation.

The team were also able to get involved with the celebrations. The celebration was filled with live acts such as Samantha Mumba and Sam Bailey. In addition to a dog parade, there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.

The crowd and the atmosphere at the event were both amazing. The live acts were great, and there were some fantastic food stalls! – Lauren Sapsford, Scheduling Team Manager.
