We recently educated jobseekers about green careers at the London Clean Air Initiative Green Futures Event
Recently, members of our Sustainability team attended a London Clean Air Initiative Green Futures Event, hosted in partnership with the Mayor’s Green Skills Academy, Capital City College and Westminster City Council. This event connected young people, students and jobseekers with employers and organisations in the green sector to highlight the increasing variety of roles in sustainability.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the variety of roles available to them, particularly with the rising need for green skills as companies focus on transitioning to Net Zero. Helping to connect promising candidate with green careers will help to reduce the green skills gap, an important step in reaching Net Zero goals.
Our Sustainability Coordinator said that “It was encouraging to discuss pathways into the sector, particularly around retrofit and apprenticeship opportunities, which are essential for building the skilled workforce needed to deliver the UK’s net-zero ambitions.”
At Axis CLC Group, we are committed to achieving our Net Zero targets, achieving 98% construction waste diverted from landfill and an 89% recycling rate last financial year. However, achieving Net Zero goes beyond the actions of our organisation and requires collaboration across sectors and industries to create a long-lasting impact on our planet. Supporting events like these allows us to nurture and encourage the next generation of sustainability professionals who will be crucial in achieving widespread change.
