Recently, as part of our in-kind Social Value commitment, we completed a pro-bono project with our client, Southern Housing to renovate 23 doors on communal sheds for Downsfarm, Brightling Avenue. For this project, we were able to conduct a range of renovations including:

  • Renewing and decorating 16 ledged and braced doors and frame sets
  • Easing and adjusting 7 door and frame sets
  • Completing stitch repairs and repointing
  • Supplying and fitting hasp and staple with padlocks to all 23 doors

Completed to a high standard despite adverse weather conditions, the renovations provided a much-needed refresh to the sheds, which are now neat, uniform and function to the highest standard bringing them back into use for residents.

Our delivery partner, Abbeylight Contracts Ltd, received high praise for their communication and approach to delivering the project, working with a collaborative approach to complete the works.

We are grateful for the opportunity this project has provided to connect with a local organisation and provide much-needed repairs, which we hope will have a long-lasting impact on life at Downsfarm.

A big thank you to Axis for arranging the repairs to the communal sheds on Brightling Avenue. These sheds have been out of service for a long time, so I know residents are already looking forwards to having use of them again. They’re a much-needed resource and we’ve already had expressions of interest from residents wishing to use many of them.

The works have been done to a really good standard, with care taken to ensure that the sheds were made fit for their intended purpose. The feel of the estate in this area is also much improved! The work quality looks really good and I know they’re going to be a really good resource for residents and for the community centre.
