Project Details
Axis completed a roof replacement project at Devonshire House on Adpar Street London W22. Devonshire House is a retirement housing property and comprises 40 separate studio/1-bedroom flats, housing around 50 residents.
To allow us to remove all asbestos safely, the roof replacement project was conducted in eight phases. While the works were ongoing, we de-canted 11 residents into void properties within Devonshire House and re-housed them when works were completed. Once roof replacement works (which will include both pitched and flat roof areas) are complete, we will be conducting final repairs.
Axis will be surveying the windows to ensure all are working correctly, replacing, for example, faulty missing handles or broken locking mechanisms. As part of our FRA works, we are replacing all front entrance doors and communal doors with fire safety doors and, out of scope we have also installed sprinkler systems within the building. Our M&E team will additionally be installing an air pump to improve the existing ventilation system.
Axis has worked in partnership with Westminster City Council for over 12 years. Together we have delivered multiple concurrent programs across the London borough.
