Rapid repairs and happy residents for Southern Housing

In July, we organised a ‘Estate Day’ at Four Courts in Hastings on behalf of our client, Southern Housing. The initiative was designed to offer direct support to residents and ultimately improve their homes and the community they live in.

Teams from Axis, DSSL, the Estates DLO and Southern Housings’ Damp & Mould and Reactive Repairs Senior Management were present. The collaboration aimed to address immediate maintenance needs and gather insights for future improvements.

One of the highlights of the day was that we provided a free 30-minute repair service to help address immediate maintenance needs which residents appreciated for its speed and efficiency. This rapid-response initiative meant that no repair was too small or too big to be addressed on the spot.

In addition to the Axis repair service, our waste management provider, Enva, provided skips for residents to dispose of unwanted items to help reduce fly-tipping on the estate. With the blocks being high rise and some housing vulnerable residents, this allowed them to ‘spring clean’ their homes with the stress and cost associated with disposing of such items.

Residents expressed their appreciation for the Estate Day, praising Axis, Southern Housing and DSSL (our contractors) for their professionalism, efficiency and friendly approach

Chloe Hutton, Head of Repairs at Southern Housing:

The day was a huge success with lots of residents engaging with us and speaking generally about the Four Courts and what is important to them.
