Axis Celebrates Social Impact Week

Axis Hosted a Range of Fundraisers, Lunch & Learn Sessions and Activities to Celebrate Social Impact Week

Last week, from the 29th September – 5th October, Axis was excited to celebrate our first Social Impact Week. This week offered a chance to recognise our Social Impact accomplishments thus far this year, encourage more individuals to get involved with volunteering and fundraising and to understand how we are creating a lasting positive impact in the communities we work in.

Across the week, we hosted a variety of events, activities and competitions:

Monday 29th September

  • Social Impact Hub: we hosted a Social Impact Hub in our Stratford office where individuals could learn more about our social impact work and how they can get involved through volunteering and fundraising
  • Guess the Impact Game: we offered a prize to the individual who could most closely guess our number of volunteering hours thus far this financial year, with options to enter online or in person. From 68 entries, Jamie Laird won with his guess of 1700 hours, only 33 hours short of the correct total!

Tuesday 30th September

  • Demelza Bake Sale: Kate Thomson, Social Impact Coordinator, hosted a bake sale to raise funds for our corporate charity partner Demelza, who she is running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for later this month!

Wednesday 1st October

  • Demelza Lunch & Learn: Louise Earl from Demelza delivered a Lunch & Learn session about the amazing services Demelza provides and how Axis team members can get involved through volunteering days and fundraising events.

Thursday 2nd October

  • Volunteering Hub: new volunteering opportunities were published and advertised through our volunteering hub, showcasing options for everyone with opportunities across a range of sectors and regions. 26 people have since signed up to use their volunteering day! Click here for more information about available opportunities to join them.

Friday 3rd October

  • Social Impact Heroes: to wrap up Social Impact Week, we acknowledged 8 individuals who have shown remarkable ongoing commitment to Social Impact by facilitating events, getting involved in volunteering and fundraising, and championing Social Impact in their daily work.

At Axis, we always strive to create positive, long-term change in the communities we serve. Social Impact Week offered a chance to reflect upon our work thus far and reaffirm our commitment going forwards. We are excited about our upcoming Social Impact initiatives and our capacity to continue effecting positive change in our everyday work and interactions with the local community.

A huge thank you to Kate Thomson for coordinating the week and for all those who came along to learn, reflect and get involved!
