Investors In People
We are delighted to announce that Axis has achieved a Gold level accreditation from Investors in People in relation to our ongoing commitment to supporting our people, our training for leadership and our focus on continual improvement.
Axis has been accredited with the Investors in People Standard since 2004. Our last assessment resulted in a silver accreditation, so this recent result recognises progress has been achieved.
Axis always has been and always will be about our people, our values and our approach to the communities we work in. That is what differentiates us from the other companies in our sector – CEO and Chairman, John Hayes
Only 17% of organisations assessed to achieve the gold standard. As former holders of a Silver accreditation, judges noted many improvements and positives at Axis.
These included our development of our people through internal promotions, apprenticeships, Talent Pool and multiskilling staff. These all contributed to Axis getting our gold award, as well as our approach to Community Investment.
We have a real listening culture around change and transformation as well as many positive relationships between line managers and staff. Axis people feel genuinely cared for and supported with 78% of staff calling Axis a ‘great place to work’. Our managers seem to genuinely care about their people and provide good opportunities for conversations through 121s and toolbox talks.
Improvements made to communication through a wide range of media and great consistency around the use of people processes, with nearly all staff having regular one-to-ones and reporting effective line management also helped get us to gold.
