First Joint Win for Newly-Merged Axis/CLC
Newly-merged Axis and CLC have successfully jointly tendered for a Fire Works contract with the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST)
Axis and CLC have been awarded 8 sites (out of a possible 15): Axis will deliver the works at six sites for GDST; CLC Leeds will deliver the works at two sites.
- Inner London – 4 sites (Axis)
- South – 1 site (Axis)
- West Midlands – 1 site (Axis)
- East Midlands – 1 site CLC
- North East – 1 site CLC
Works on two sites will start in October 2024. All works are to be undertaken during school holidays. The larger of the sites will have the work phased over two or even three holiday periods in some cases. Final completion is estimated to be September 2025.
Value of contract
The total value of the contract is £846,650.
Scope of Works
The contract is for the supply and installation of new fire alarm systems, and all associated emergency lighting. As part of the contract, we will also carry any fire stopping requirements linked to the new installation works. There may also be a requirement to modify or replace suspended ceilings, flooring repairs and minor decorations.
Richard Morris, CEO of Axis and CLC, said: “From within our combined businesses, we lined up our skilled teams and presented a joint programme, clearly evidencing our joint capabilities and strengths to our prospective client GDST.
“This is just the first of many such projects we will be undertaking jointly. It immediately – and perfectly – demonstrates why the companies have merged so successfully and what we can achieve together, particularly in this case around compliance and within the Education sector.”
Darren Randerson, Divisional Manager at CLC Leeds, said: “CLC has a limited history of contracts within central London, with the exception of the Premier Inn refurbishments, which are delivered by a small number of CLC branches.
“When I received the enquiry from Rider Levett Bucknall (construction, property and management consultancy) this provided the perfect opportunity to spread CLC’s coverage by working collaboratively with the Axis team.
“A big thank you to Richard Morris [CEO of Axis and CLC] for the introduction to the team at Axis – their assistance and support was invaluable to this contract win. This achievement is a great example of what our two companies can accomplish as a result of the merger.”
Alan Noble, M&E Director at Axis, said: “We are delighted to have successfully competitively tendered for this project with CLC. Our experienced experts at Axis and at CLC were able to offer an impressive, cohesive application for the project.”
