Axis Supports Christmas Initiatives for L&Q Residents

Bringing Festive Joy: Axis Partners with L&Q to Celebrate This Christmas

To celebrate the festive season, Axis had the pleasure of partnering with our client, L&Q to support three Christmas initiatives for residents. This included Christmas parties at Lewisham Park Towers and Wingfield Court, in addition to donating £1,500 to L&Q Living to support festivities at 9 sheltered housing schemes in South-East London.

To kick off, Axis hosted a Christmas Party at The Hub on 18th December and provided all residents of Lewisham Park Towers with Christmas Hampers. The event was a huge success with 65 residents in attendance! It started with a magical afternoon as children had the chance to meet Santa and receive a small gift. The party then kicked off with a game of Christmas bingo, a rendition of Christmas carols by Lewisham Park Choir and multiple musical and dance performances by residents. Followed by an evening of Christmas trivia, a festive raffle, and lots of yummy food.

Rositsa Kormeva, Divisional Operations Manager commented, “We’ve received many heartfelt text messages and letters from residents expressing their gratitude and joy over the event and the hampers. Their kind words truly highlight the positive impact the event had on the community”.

In a heartfelt thank you letter, Bobbie Stokes, LPT Resident said, “I wish to say thank you for my lovely Christmas goody bag and voucher. This was a massive surprise for me. I am sure that those residents who do not have loved ones around them over the festive period would fully appreciate their gift too. On the Resident Christmas Party, I would also wish to convey my thanks, especially to Joe for his kindness, generosity and once again, putting resident’s welfare at heart”.

Thank you to the following Axis volunteers for ensuring the smooth running and successful delivery of the event: Joe Ibrahim, Rositsa Kormeva, Tanya Edwards, Sabrina Alexandar, Sarah Cooper, Carole McGhie, Debbie Fadare, Phil Rogers, Andy Pay, Laura Nicol, Charlie Franklin, Harrison Friday, Jacob Lindsay and Adedeji Johnson.

Following this, Axis had the pleasure of hosting a Christmas Party at Wingfield Court, sheltered housing scheme on 19th December. The day was jam packed with Christmas music, a live performer, festive food from Toby Carvery and a special Christmas jumper dress code!

Ellie Matthews, Senior Resident Liaison Officer said, “I’ve been with Axis almost 6 years now and this year’s volunteer day at Wingfield Court was honestly the most unforgettable one. The residents were so grateful of what we put together for them and the surprise Elvis impersonator we had in store! They were all up and dancing and we at Axis all got involved too. There was a resident who was 102 years old who got up and started dancing, which I’ll never forget. She had better dance moves than all of us!

It’s a great way to bring people together, especially the elderly residents here that probably don’t see friends/family often. It was a lovely experience for them”.

A special mention to Stacey Trotman, Senior Site Manager who coordinated the event and thank you to the following Axis volunteers for helping on the day: Ellie Matthews, Maida Muratovic, Adrian Nicula, Georgie Doe, Joe Linnett, Leslie Crabbe and Antonia Hills.

A huge well done to every Axis volunteer who helped make the Christmas season so magical for L&Q residents! A true reflection of OV6: a community we contribute to will welcome and value us.
