Axis Welcomes New Apprentices to the Family

In a remarkable display of commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth, Axis has proudly welcomed 42 apprentices/trainees this year.

Every February, to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, Axis actively participates in a range of career events and for the first time hosted an in-house family and friends’ event, all designed to promote the apprenticeship programme.

Over the past year, there has been an overwhelming interest in the programme, resulting in the recruitment of over 30 apprentices in a mix of trade and office-based roles. Dimple Jamnadas,  our Recruitment Coordinator, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating, “We’ve had a successful year of apprentice recruitment with a huge number of interests.

The programme was coordinated by Michelle Workman, the Apprentice Coordinator at Axis. Speaking about the success of the programme Michelle shared, “We’ve experienced a highly successful year in apprentice recruitment, welcoming apprentices across various fields including multitrade, painting, quantity surveying, business analysis, administration, customer service, plumbing, gas, and electrical work.

She continued, “The Axis Apprenticeship Programme sets an exceptionally high standard, trusted not only by our Axis family but also recommended to their own friends and relatives. We extend a warm welcome to those who have successfully joined us on their apprenticeship journey. Observing these new apprentices embark on their Axis apprenticeships is witnessing the beginning of a path filled with knowledge, skill-building, and valuable experience, leading to an inspiring and promising career. Through their dedication and hard work, they ultimately shine as the bright stars within the Axis family.”

Michelle also expressed her excitement about the new cohort, saying, “We have such an amazing group of apprentices this year, who are so grateful for the opportunity that Axis has given to them. I am so looking forward to working with them all and see them develop in their apprenticeship careers with us.”

Vera O’Driscoll, our Community Investment Coordinator, who organised the apprentice work experience for this year, shared her enthusiasm for the new apprentices. She said, “I’ve had some great feedback from the Line Managers regarding the skills and work ethic of the new apprentices. They all seemed very keen to get stuck into learning their new trade, which was great to see! I wish them the best of luck for their first few months!”
