Axis wins Major Repairs contract for Royal Borough of Greenwich

Royal Borough of Greenwich appointed Axis as one of four contractors for a Major and Responsive Repairs and Void Refurbishment contract covering 20,500 properties.

Scope of works includes:

  • Major reactive repairs to rented dwellings and mixed tenure blocks
  • Repairs and refurbishment of vacant dwellings (voids)
  • Drainage reactive repairs
  • Minor remedials from Fire Risk Assessments (FRA): firestopping works within individual properties including flat entrance doors and frames, breaches, fire detection and emergency lighting.

We will also be required to work closely with our client to ensure repairs associated with damp and mould are resolved with the required timescales set out by legislation (Awaab’s Law).

And we may also be required to provide an emergency repairs service where immediate action will prevent serious damage to a property.

The total combined estimated annual value of the contracts is £8,000,000.

The contract commenced in December 2024 – its duration is four years with an option to extend for a further three years.

Client relationship

Via a mini-competition off the South East Consortium’s Internal and External Building Works Framework (major refurbishments projects greater than £1m per annum), The Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) appointed Axis as one of three contractors to deliver their  Major Capital Works Programme. This is a 5-year, long-term renewal improvements programme commenced in October 2023.
