BSI confirms Axis as an industry quality leader

Home>News>Responsible Business>BSI confirms Axis as an industry quality leader

Axis are delighted to announce our BSI certification.

You cannot hope to repeat an amazing recipe if you don’t have the ingredients and method of cooking it written down, just like a business cannot hope to consistently deliver industry-leading quality standards, service and improvement without management processes written into its DNA.

So it caused a huge celebration within Axis when BSI (British Standard’s Institution) certified us ISO 9001:2015. This makes Axis the first property contractor, working across sectors, to achieve the new ISO 9001 certification from BSI, which covers our full range of repairs, maintenance and refurbishment services.

We already had the certification to ISO 9001:2008 and had voluntarily moved across to BSI, one of the most thorough auditors of the ISO standards, in order to challenge everything the organisation does and ensure quality standards and processes are at the heart of its operations.

An in-depth audit by BSI, which included interviewing management, reviewing contracts and live operations highlighted that the way Axis works across sectors, services and client types is highly focused and considerate of the following that is needed for quality service:

  • Customer Focus
  • Leadership
  • Engagement of People
  • Process Approach
  • Improvement
  • Evidence-based Decision Making
  • Relationship Management

Axis’ CEO John Hayes said:

There is a saying that quality is not an act, it is a habit. Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives. I believe in this and so does Axis management, who, over the last five years have worked tirelessly to develop and embed quality management systems that are needed in the business we aspire to be.

I am very proud of the achievement and thank the people who have built and instilled the quality management systems, our people who have embraced them and the team who lead our audit.

So what does that mean?

In order to achieve certification to ISO 9001:2015, organisations must have management systems that support the delivery of statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements. This is the strongest indication that a project or contract started with Axis will be finished by Axis and stands the best chance of being on time, to budget and meet the SLAs agreed in the contract. So it means don’t take our word for it, take it from the UK’s authority on quality standards that if you’re looking for a property services contractor, Axis leads the way.
