Upgraded a residential property in East London by installing a new cold water pressure booster system
Project Details
Axis’ M&E Division installed a new cold water pressure booster system for our existing client, Tower Hamlets Community Housing (THCH).
Our works improved the cold water pressure for residents (in Norton House, Bigland Street, east London) who had reported low pressure issues.
Axis’ experts drained and disconnected the water storage tanks at roof level, decommissioned the existing cold water down service, then installed the new cold water pressure booster system (pumps and tank) and also new cold water pipes to the pipework to the flats.
In addition, we converted six boilers to a sealed combi system that will adapt to the new system and ensure the building is suitable for mains-fed water.
Norton House is a fully-occupied residential block of flats. We kept disruption to a minimum for residents. And our regular newsletters kept them informed of our progress and about when they would be without water whilst we conducted the works.
Our new Cold Water Pressure Booster System provides an energy-efficient, high-performance and low-maintenance solution with better pressure and flow rate for residents and reduced costs for our client.
Benefits
- Improved energy efficiency
- Lower maintenance costs
- High performance system
- Enhanced water pressure and flow
Client Relationship
Our works for THCH include the delivery of remedial re-cladding works at a high-rise residential block in east London; and, via Via Fusion 21’s Reaction Repairs and Maintenance Framework Lot 1, a 5-year contract to conduct reactive repairs and maintenance, void property improvements and emergency and out of hours support.
