Reducing our Carbon Footprint – Planet Mark Certified for the Third Year

Axis Continues it’s Pledge to Sustainability Through Third Year with Planet Mark Certification

Axis is delighted to announce that we are Planet Mark Certified for the third year in a row. The environment, one of our core values, is central to our company, so we are very proud of this important milestone.

Planet Mark is a sustainability certification that recognises continuous improvements, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded organisations. To be certified with Planet Mark, we are required to measure and reduce annual carbon emissions associated with business operations by a minimum of 2.5% every year. This process helps us understand and optimise the carbon associated with energy, travel, water, waste and procurement.

We have measured our Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2021, and we are proud to say that last year, we saw an absolute carbon reduction of 5% and a 9.3% reduction per employee! That’s an average of 3.2% reduction year-on-year!

Our total measured footprint for 2024 was 1,962.9 tCO₂e, decreasing from 2,026.8 tCO₂e in 2023. Whilst our business travel emissions unfortunately increased this year, we had a significant decrease in emissions from buildings largely due to a reduction in reliance on natural gas.
