In 2019, Swan and Axis celebrated a milestone: our 10th anniversary in our 14-year contract.

The Swan/Axis partnership has become an industry byword for successful collaboration as it has brought many benefits to both organisations as well as to Swan’s residents in ten years.

  • Achieved 99.51% repair appointments made and kept 
  • Achieved 95% resident satisfaction  
  • Achieved 100% Gas Compliance figures 2015-2019 
  • Reduced complaints by 60%
  • Made savings of £3m +

From the beginning of the contractboth parties embraced a partnership charter closely focused on the client. From Day One were both committed to a “One Team Approach. Our centralised integrated data system gives live and up to date figures of our performance creating transparency of our progression throughout the contract. Shared fiscal responsibility and cost savings remain priorities.

Sharing space in Basildon and in Stratford enables both teams to align procedures, technology and contract management creating efficiencies. 

Exciting new ideas 

A focus on innovation and digital adoption plus regularly reviewed service improvement plan keep us on our toes helping us deliver the best to our residents. 

Good neighbours 

Our shared CSR programme with our client as well as our focus on local employment and supply chain have boosted the local communities’ economy by an estimated £64m.

  • Created 60 jobs for local people 
  • Invested £320k in apprenticeships 
  • Donated £270k to local causes  
  • Volunteered 3,400 hours to community projects 
  • Engaged with local schools and colleges’ Work Inspiration programmes

Swan and Axis shortlisted for UK Housing Awards 2019 

Axis and Swan in partnership were shortlisted for UK Housing Awards shortlist for Contractor of the Year. 

Swan Housing Association joined Sanctuary as a subsidiary in February 2024. With Swan as a subsidiary, Sanctuary now manages around 120,000 units of accommodation across England and Scotland.
