Contract Win With Harrow Council
Axis won a Kitchen and Bathroom contract with Harrow Council covering 108 properties across the London Borough.
The project, which started in November 2018, comprised the supply and installation of 75 kitchens and 62 bathrooms in Harrow, North West London. The contract was valued at £530,000 and the works took 20 weeks to complete.
The contract involved the replacement of kitchens and bathrooms with any associated upgrade/re-wires to various houses, flats and sheltered housing blocks in Harrow Council’s housing stock. Axis was awarded the contract due to our ‘pro-active approach to achieving KPI targets’ and ‘strong evidence of resident engagement’. The properties were occupied during the installations, meaning that our Resident Liaison Officers provided continual and clear communication, explaining the works to the residents.
During the mobilisation period, surveyors used endoscopic camera extension kits to produce accurate surveys in a non-obtrusive, efficient manner. The challenges of the works included concealed gas/electric/water lines and the possible presence of asbestos inside walls and ceilings. To overcome these potentially hazardous situations, operatives took care to trace and identify service lines and remove asbestos in strict compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
In addition to our services, Axis provided genuine opportunities to local organisations and residents. £1,000 was invested into local causes and 15% of the contract value was delivered through local businesses to ensure the social, economic and environmental sustainability of the contract.
