Axis Wins Contract with Brentwood Borough Council

Brentwood Borough Council has awarded Axis a strategic asset management contract covering 2,439 properties across Essex.

The contract, which commences in June 2019, is made up of 10 initial years with the option to extend for another five. The value of the works is £3m pa. The scope of works comprises reactive repairs and maintenance, voids, planned and cyclical work and heating systems. Specialist works will include asbestos removal, roofing and damp works

Our services will cover the entirety of Brentwood Borough Council’s housing stock with the potential for corporate property in the future.

As the majority of the works will be delivered to occupied homes, a key measure for Brentwood Borough Council in selecting a new service provider was an emphasis on customer care. Axis’ RLOs, all trained to a minimum of NVQ Level 2, will provide continual communication to residents. Due to the ongoing nature of responsive repairs, our call centre will be on hand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Commenting on the contract win, Axis’ Managing Director of Maintenance Tim Hayes said “We are delighted to have secured the Brentwood contract and look forward to delivering a customer-focused service as one team with the same aims and objectives. We are more than confident that we can enhance their existing service and bring added benefits to the wider community.”

Brentwood Borough Council’s Chair of the Community, Health and Housing Committee, Councillor Tom McLaren, said:

It was important that we were able to find a partner that offers value for money with excellent customer service, and following a procurement process, we are delighted to award Axis the housing maintenance and repairs contract for our properties. This will ensure that Brentwood’s housing is maintained to the highest possible standard and provides the best service for our tenants. We are looking forward to developing our working relationship with Axis.
