Project Details
Axis was selected by our client Bailey Garner for a high-volume, five-week school renovation project at John Ruskin School in Camberwell, South London. Axis had previously delivered a number of repair and maintenance projects in the education sector for our client. Bailey Garner is an interdisciplinary construction consultancy.
Our public sector team took on a scope of works that included repairing and repainting of sash windows and doors. We also repointed the exterior brickwork and renewed the wrought iron fencing. This came alongside the general decoration of gates, fences, bannisters, handrails and pipes. The team also provided the maintenance of four five-storey internal stairwells.
We chose heavy-duty materials to give the new school decorations the longest life cycle possible. The team ensured that the chosen materials would withstand the wear and tear of everyday school life. We painted the internal stairwell walls using a four coat ‘fleck’ paint method and applied anti-climb paint, on all of the external pipework.
Our team completed the works during a five-week summer holiday window. Therefore, we delivered the school renovation project a week before the teachers returned to start their term planning sessions.
