Axis Wins Most Innovative Approach to Tenant Communications at the Housing Digital 2026 Awards
We’re proud to announce that Axis has won the Most Innovative Approach to Tenant Communications at the Housing Innovation Awards 2026 by Housing Digital for our Lewisham Park Towers Digital Engagement Platform.
Project
Axis developed a bespoke digital engagement platform for Lewisham Park Towers retrofit programme, redefining how tenant communications support trust during highly disruptive major works. Working with L&Q, we delivered a 20-month retrofit across three occupied tower blocks, affecting 204 homes and 240 residents.
Rather than replying on generic contractor systems, we created a project-specific digital ecosystem entirely in-house. This included a dedicated mobile app (IOS and Android), website, self-service appointment booking, integrated SMS and push notifications, liver chat with named Resident Liaison Officers (RLOs), and photo and video updates showing real working progress. Every message and feature related directly to works affecting residents’ homes, ensuring relevance and clarity.
The digital engagement platform enhanced our resident relationships. The digital tools reduced routine admin by around 30%, freeing RLOs to focus on vulnerable and digitally excluded residents through face-to-face support. Identical functionality across app and web ensured accessibility, while live-streamed resident meetings enabled participation for those unable to attend in person.
The results were exceptional: 60% digital engagement across a diverse resident group, 92% resident satisfaction during major works, zero formal complaints, and 100% on-time, on-budget delivery. Independent validation from Tpas recognised the approach to tenant engagement practice.
Following the success at Lewisham Park Towers, we rolled out the digital platform framework across other schemes, demonstrating a scalable, resident-first model for the social housing sector.
