Axis’ contract news round-up takes a brief summary look at our recent contracted works and projects.

SEC Framework Wins Axis More Work

Axis takes pride in our places on multiple South East Consortium’s (SEC) Frameworks: Internal and External Building Works (2019-2024); Heating & Compliancy (2019-2024) and Zero Carbon and Renewable Services (2021-2024).

1 Residential upgrade in Fulham

Following a mini competition off the SEC’s  Internal and External Building Works Framework (Lot 1b, Major Refurbishments) Axis was awarded a major cyclical repairs and re-decoration project for the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham’s property, Sullivan Court. Works comprise the repair, redecoration and upgrading of six 5-8 storeys residential blocks located in a Conservation area in Fulham, London SW6, close to prestigious clubs Chelsea Harbour and the Hurlingham. The contract is valued at £5,500,000.

11 Good to Go in Soho

Soho Housing awarded Axis a cyclical decorations contract through the SEC’s Internal & External Building Works Framework (Lot 6: Internal & External Decoration/Repairs). It is worth an estimated £250,000. Our Housing Division will started work across the iconic area in August and are due to finish by Spring 2023. Soho Housing owns and manages nearly 800 homes and has 37 commercial tenants across the boroughs of Westminster and Camden.

111 Hero to Zero

Axis has been awarded a place on the SEC’s Zero Carbon Framework.  This is the SEC’s largest ever framework value, with a notice value at £5bn, and is a key element for organisations to help plan, build, maintain and support their journey towards Net Zero Carbon. Lots include Lot 2: EWI, Lot 3: Loft & Cavity Wall Insulation and Lot 6a: EV charging and Lot 10: Partnerships.

Axis Showers in the City

Axis has started working at a prestigious office building on Carey Lane in the City of London. We’ll be taking stock of the 2,500m2 office property in a bid to replace and refurbish the showers. Our commercial team started conducting works in August this year, with a proposed value of £61,000. They’ll be banking on a top-notch service in the heart of the capital, to match the iconic area’s already sparkling business district.

Trust from Hornsey Housing

Hornsey Housing Trust has appointed Axis to conduct cyclical external decorations and associated repairs to four properties. The project began in October and is valued at £67,000. The organisation owns and manages 385 properties within the London Borough of Haringey and was set up in 1933 to house 400 older people and people with other support needs in Hornsey, Crouch End, and north London.

Fusing with THCH in 2021

Axis has come together with Tower Hamlets Community Housing for a five-year contract via Fusion21’s Reactive Repairs and Maintenance Framework, Lot 1. Worth £5 million, the contract started in October and sees us provide a blend of core reactive repairs and maintenance, void property improvements, emergency and out of hours support, and potential additional works for planned and cyclical repairs. Supporting Female Empowerment

Housing for Women is a charity that champions female empowerment by providing and promoting affordable homes and support services for women across eight  London Boroughs. Axis is proud to be conducting external decorations and repair works at their Pembridge Villas property, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The project began in August and is valued at £33,000.

It’s Fun to Work with the Y.M.C.A

Axis is carrying out internal and external decorations as well as repairs for the Y.M.C.A, St Paul’s Group. Our Housing Team will be redecorating all previously decorated surfaces of external fabrics and communal areas within properties situated at Hanwell, Northolt Grange, Greenford, Harrow and Parsons Green. Y.M.C.A St Paul’s Group provides support to vulnerable and homeless young people across London.

Gateway to St Mark’s

Axis has completed a Minor Works contract with our client Gateway Housing Association in the borough of Tower Hamlets. Our housing division provided internal and external redecorations, window replacements and door replacements. The project was valued at nearly £400,000 and began in June 2021. The residential properties are located at St Marks Gate, right next to Victoria Park.

New NHS Contract in Kent

Axis won an NHS contract from Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT) to strip out, replace and refurbish the WCs and showers at Fern Ward in St Martin’s Hospital. A mental health facility on Littlebourne Road in Canterbury, Kent, Fern Ward is an 18 bed inpatient unit caring for women.

Evidence of our expertise within NHS properties can be seen at Birmingham Children’s Hospital where we have worked with our client Riverside for over a decade. Works here include:

  • Internal decorations and remedial works
  • Kitchen replacement
  • Doctor and nurse accommodation
  • Plumbing, drainage and electrical works
  • Major heritage roof repairs

Prestige for Projects

Our Projects team recently commenced a new external redecoration and repairs programme at Carlton House Terrace in London for The Crown Estate. Scope of works includes painting all external walls columns, balustrades and brickwork and repairing and painting all windows and doors. Works will last until November 2022 and the project is valued at £2.6m.

Network Homes Framework Win

We have been awarded a place as a preferred bidder on Network Homes Framework: Fire Related Works (external wall remediation) – Lot 1. Network Homes manages over 20,000 homes across London, Hertfordshire and the South East. News from the Met

Axis has won a number of new contracts from the Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime (MOPAC) including: Lift Renewal Works in Southwark (£152,000); Fire alarm and generator works in Romford ( £238,000); Window replacement works at Gipsy Hill (£291,000); LED Replacement Works at Denmark Hill and Bethnal Green (£88,000 + 111,000); Roof Works in Kennington and West Hampstead (£27,000 + £222,000); and Refurbishment Works at Brixton’s canteen and  Perivale Taser Armoury (£237,000 +  £54,615.56).

Client Satisfaction Secures More Work

1 Office Works

Faithorn Farrell Timms Chartered Surveyors’ Practice also act as our client  MTVH’s Contract Administrators. FFT praised our works for MTVH at Hengist Way – so perhaps it is no surprise they have charged us with the Refurbishment Works of their own offices in Orpington. We are due to start in April  2022 and finish in May 2022. Works are valued at £23,000.

11 Proof in the Roof

Following our successful roof replacement works for MTVH on the Roundshaw Estate, we have also been awarded by MTVH a similar roofing project at Sirinham Point valued at £141,000. At 24-storeys, Sirinham Point is one of the tallest structures in Lambeth. It is one of the two towers on the Ashmole Estate, near to Vauxhall/ Kia Oval cricket ground.

Local Space Expands Contract

Our Responsive Repairs, Void Refurbishment and Property Maintenance Works contract with Local Space has just moved on a stage: where some properties were previously managed by Newham Council, the council recently transferred 700 homes to Local Space, so the properties would sit under the care of their repairs and maintenance contract serviced by us.

Peabody Extension

2022 saw a new extension to our contract with Peabody Housing Association, until 2026. We’ve been working alongside Peabody to deliver property services for nearly 20 years. Now, we are moving to help make their properties more energy efficient: we are certified under PAS 35 to carry out decarbonisation and retrofitting works.

Warwick DC Extension

Axis is very proud to announce our 4-year contract extension with Warwick District Council. The total value of procurement for this contract is £20,000,000 and will cover the provision of housing Repairs, Voids and Out-Of-Hours Service as well as maintenance to Council-owned corporate, commercial and residential buildings, garages, parks and open spaces. PA Housing New Projects

PA Housing have awarded us several new projects including Cyclical Decorations Internal & External Repairs and Redecoration (£1,000,000) and an Internal & External Repairs and Redecoration project in the Midlands (£400,000.000).

L&Q Developments

London & Quadrant have employed us for External repairs and Decorations at Stratford  (£5,500,000) and Cyclical Decorations at Cray and Garratt (£4,5000.00).
