Celebrating "Our Power, Our Planet" for Earth Day 2026
Wednesday 22nd April marked Earth Day 2026, presenting a chance to reflect on how our everyday actions impact the environment and contribute to a sustainable future for all. This year’s Earth Day theme is “Our Power, Our Planet”, highlighting the power of small, sustained actions by individuals, organisations and communities to improve our environment. With over 10,000 events planned, this year’s Earth Day marks a global movement for climate awareness and action.
At Axis CLC, we pride ourselves on our work to protect and preserve our environment for future generations. In addition to dedicated environmental initiatives, our retrofit works help to vastly reduce emissions in the buildings we service. At Lewisham Park Towers, where we have completed retrofit and decarbonisation works with L&Q, we have reduced building emissions by 50%!
In addition to this, we have also helped our communities improve their sustainability through solar panel installations, including a £1.4M project with Westminster City Council to install solar panels that will generate an estimated 54,000 kWh of renewable energy each year.
We also recently celebrated our fourth consecutive year achieving Planet Mark certification in recognition of consistent reductions in carbon emissions. These continual improvements demonstrate a sustained focus on reducing our environmental impact and striving to reach our target of being Net Zero by 2050.
Earth Day offers the chance to reflect on the progress we have created through consistent daily action and empower us to continue striving for our Net Zero goals.
