A Customer Service Trainee's Growth Story: Meet Bilal Rasheed

Bilal Rasheed is a Customer Service Trainee based in our London Stratford office. He supports both customer enquires and complaints. Since joining, he has progressed from learning the basics of customer service to handling more complex cases independently, building confidence and decision-making skills along the way.

We spoke with Bilal about his journey, his role, and his experience at Axis CLC. Read his full interview below.

Journey & Growth

What's your journey been like since joining Axis CLC?

My journey at Axis CLC has been positive. When I first joined, I was focused on learning the basics of customer service, but over time I’ve been able to take on more responsibility and grow into my role as a Customer Service Officer and Complaints Officer. It’s helped me build confidence and improve how I handle different situations.

How has the company supported your development?

I’ve felt well supported throughout, especially with training and regular feedback. Mike Fleming has been a great manager, he’s very supportive, knowledgeable, and always takes the time to help me improve. His guidance has really helped me grow both professionally and personally within the business.

Role & Impact

What do you do, and what do you enjoy most about your role?

My role involves supporting customers with enquires and handling complaints, making sure each case is dealt with fairly and with empathy. What I enjoy most is being able to help customers, especially when I can turn a difficult situation into a positive outcome.

What achievement are you most proud of here?

I’d say I’m most proud of how much my confidence has grown, particularly in managing complaints independently and making decisions.

How would you describe the company culture in a few words?

I'd describe the culture as friendly, supportive, and team-focused.

What makes working here different?

What makes it difference is how approachable everyone is, there’s always someone willing to help, and it feels like a real team environment.

How do leaders and colleagues support you?

Both managers and colleagues are supportive and easy to approach. There’s always guidance available when needed, especially with more complex cases.

Do you feel heard and able to share ideas?

I do feel comfortable sharing ideas, and it’s nice to feel that your input is valued.

How does Axis CLC support work-life balance and flexibility?

There’s a good level of understanding when it comes to work-life balance, and flexibility where possible, which makes a big difference.

Do you feel you can be yourself at work?

I do feel like I can be myself at work, which helps create a relaxed and positive atmosphere.

I originally joined because it seemed like a good opportunity to learn and grow, and I’ve stayed because of the people and the environment. Especially Mike Flemming and Joe Marshal, who have both had a really positive impact on my experience here.
