Welfare House Refurbishment Provides Calming Space for Service Members
We are excited to share that we recently completed a pro-bono renovation project as part of our contract with Amey working on the Colchester Garrison. Our team donated £5,836 and 176 volunteering hours to modernise one of their Contact Welfare Houses, which provide spaces for family support during times of illness or crisis.
We were able to update and transform the space, including:
- Providing and installing brand-new modern kitchen
- Repainting rooms throughout the property
- Installing new carpets and flooring across the entire property.
Working in collaboration with Garrison G1, DIO, Amey and Pinnacle, we have shown the importance of partnership to deliver valuable community projects and support. Additionally, the delivery of the project aligned with the arrival of two new Axis CLC employees, which offered a great opportunity to introduce them to our values and the benefits of collaboration.
We are proud to have received fantastic feedback about the quality of our work and the impact it will have on families at the Colchester SFA. We hope this refurbishment will help to support service members and their families in their time of need and provide a calming space for the delivery of support services.
