Project Details
Our team gave the twelve washrooms (male, female and DDA compliant) a dynamic makeover. We installed concealed cisterns and plumbing as well as sensor pneumatic flushes and mixer taps. We also introduced high specification sanitaryware and sinks. The team provided a programme of mechanical and electrical works including rewiring and new central heating. We renewed the plumbing, air conditioning, sanitary fittings, fire doors and modern carpets. This created an improved work and study environment for staff and students which was enhanced by a new LED lighting system, fitted with motion sensor switches.
Overall, the university refurbishment works preventative and restorative nature improves the building and ensures that the areas remain fit for purpose. It also means that Kingston University can attain the optimum life span of the building from the improvements. During the 12-week programme, our team carefully scheduled so that the project was completed on time, and with minimum disruption. We incorporated fire stopping measures so that, in the event of a fire, flames and smoke would be held back for the maximum amount of time. Alongside this, we completed the ceiling and partitioning work was taking place.
