Clarion Residents Hired as Apprentices Following Successful Work Experience
Axis completed a refurbishment project at Hallfield Estate in Westminster, repainting and refurbishing over 215 metres of estate railings. As part of our social value programme, our team of apprentices and work experience students volunteered over 500 hours of their time, in addition to £2,000 donated by Axis towards materials to support the delivery of the project.
In addition to creating a cleaner, more welcoming environment for residents of the estate, this project offered hands-on experience to those at the beginning of their careers. 315 of the volunteering hours were completed by work experience students who were able to gain invaluable insight into life as a Painter and Decorator at Axis.
This included Clarion Housing Group residents Dominic Warner and Fuwad Faruq, two work experience students who were recognised during the week for their diligence and attention to detail. Following the project, both were offered positions as Painting and Decorating Apprentices at Axis to continue their training.
Over the past year, both Dominic and Fuwad have gained extensive experience with our Painting and Decorating team, earning glowing reviews from supervisors for their skills and work ethic.
Through our partnership with Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group, we have been able to offer meaningful and impactful employment opportunities that help residents develop practical skills to build long-term careers in the industry. We look forward to continuing to work with Clarion residents to increase their employability through gaining invaluable work experience and confidence.
