Inspiring the Black Country 2026: Connecting with Wolverhampton Students

We recently joined the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Careers and Enterprise Company for their event, Inspiring the Black Country 2026, which brought together employers and education providers to educate young people on opportunities available in the region.

Hosted at Wolverhampton Racecourse, the event welcomed nearly 1,000 young people to learn more about the range of career paths available in the industry and gain insights from experienced professionals.

This year marked a record attendance for Inspiring the Black Country, highlighting the rising importance and impact of supporting young people as they enter the world of employment. Raising awareness of the options available helps young people to make informed career decisions and understand how to pursue their goals.

We are proud to have contributed to this impactful event and grateful for the opportunity to engage with students and other employers in the industry.

It was fantastic to speak with students about the huge variety of opportunities available within the construction sector. One of the standout moments was hearing young people say they hadn’t realised certain roles even existed, for example Business Development Managers and the many career paths construction offers. We also received some really positive feedback on how engaging our stand was, which made the day even more rewarding. It is always great to help open eyes to future opportunities and show that there’s a place for everyone in the industry.
