Axis successfully delivered this external maintenance programme for the London Borough of Southwark. Our housing sector team provided building works on 360 properties on the Bonamy Estate in Bermondsey, south-east London.
Our scope of external works began by replacing the aluminium windows with UPVC windows to match the existing colour schemes. We over-clad fascias and soffits in UPVC, and rainwater goods were renewed. Alongside this, we repaired the communal front entrance doors.
The team then laid new vinyl flooring in the communal areas, with new entrance matting. We upgraded and replaced the front entrance doors within our FRA remit. We also included fire-stopping works and replaced lift hatches to provide fire integrity as part of our external maintenance works.
The Fairer Future for All vision of Southwark Council emphasises treating residents as ‘A valued member of our own family’ and ‘being open, honest and accountable; spending money as if it were from our own pocket; working for everyone to realise their own potential and making Southwark a place to be proud of’. Our own core values of Respect, Training, Community and Honesty match with this vision.
