Project Details

Axis completed this external redecoration project at residential apartments and commercial units within a busy and distinguished courtyard in central London. Pied Bull Yard hosts an array of shops, bars and restaurants. It is a high-end location situated in Fitzrovia, central London.

Our dedicated commercial team took the care and attention that was required at the planning stage in order to effectively organise workmen whilst minimising disruption to tenants and the public during the work. The courtyard itself comprised approximately 40 flats and 10 boutique commercial units.

The team began this project with brickwork and stone restoration, which provided a cleaner look as well as being in keeping with the historic aesthetic of the area. We then moved on to a programme of timber repairs which included maintenance of the wood used above the commercial units. Our team brought the project a close with a full redecoration of all the coated surfaces.

We gave careful consideration to the environment, residents and tenants of the two courtyards, with the assistance of an on-site liaison officer. Our liaison officer maintained communication with the residents, providing regular updates of the project’s programme of works. This allowed the team to continue their on-site works without disruption, and clients were informed of the progress.

We utilised the placement of mobile platforms alongside our scaffolding to minimise any disruptions to residents. We erected these in place within the courtyards in order to gain access to higher floors. Due to parking restrictions on-site, we erected scaffolding along with elevation on Bury Place, where cherry pickers would not be viable to use. We gave on-going consideration throughout our external redecorations to the tenants of Pied Bull Yard to avoid working around busy daytime periods, especially during heavy foot-fall hours for outside clientele.
