Creating A Nature Woodland Trail for Garrick Close Residents In Ealing

In collaboration with Notting Hill Genesis, eleven Axis volunteer and a volunteer from our supply chain partner, London Drainage Facilities, took part in a project at Garrick Close Estate, creating a nature trail for local residents to enjoy.

The volunteers cleared overgrown woodland paths, removed leaves and laid woodchip to create a safe route through the woodland.

This volunteering day contributed to the wider project Axis has been involved in since October 2024. Previously we had:

• Donated £5,820 funds to rejuvenate the green space and create nature signs

• Delivered a resident nature print workshop

• Planted 3500 spring bulbs, 6 fruit trees and a mature willow tree

• Transformed the entrance to the woodland path

• Mounted 6 bird boxes

Alongside delivering on environmental and social value commitments, this initiative helped Axis develop strong connections with the residents and our clients. This sense of community was reflected at the afternoon launch event, where residents came to view the finished project.

The completed trail gives Garrick Close residents easier access to the woodland, creating a space they can enjoy for years to come. This is exactly the long-term, positive impact Axis aims to deliver in every community we serve.

We would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time, as well as our client partners at Notting Hill Genesis who worked hard to bring this project to life.
