Volunteers transform a Roof Garden Terrace at Ferrydale Lodge
A fantastic group of 8 volunteers from Axis CLC and our supply chain partner, ADM Contracts, renovated a roof garden at Anchor’s Ferrydale Lodge, providing a clean and welcoming space for retired residents to enjoy.
As part of our social value delivery with Anchor, the team came together to:
- Clean and stain benches
- Jet wash the entire roof terrace
- Paint planters
- Build a greenhouse
- Purchase approximately £300 of plants, pots and materials
- Plant flowers and greenery to add colour and vibrancy to the garden
This transformative work has hugely benefitted the Ferrydale Retirement Lodge, which houses
elderly residents in Barnet. Our team’s efforts have created a cleaner, more pleasant environment, which will make a meaningful difference for the wellbeing of residents. Given its proximity to busy main roads, this provides an invaluable calm space for residents to relax.
In total, volunteers from Axis CLC and our supply chain partners contributed 50 volunteering hours to the project, highlighting the value of effective cross-team collaboration across our supply chain. The success of the Ferrydale garden renovation has shown what can be achieved when colleagues come together to support local communities.
