Axis successfully delivered this office space upgrade project for a financial institution at their Canary Wharf office. As principal contractor, we were tasked with upgrading seven meeting rooms on the 16th floor. Our main objective was to make the rooms more stimulating environments. We also ensured there was no interruption to business processes during working hours. We worked on a 24-hour basis to condense the contract into a 6-week programme of works.
Our commercial division completed a variety of works within the scope. We began the project by replacing the ceilings and, subsequently, the lighting for the floor. Because of the intrusive nature of this kind of work, the team strategized to undertake it when the rooms were free and made the most of night-time work. This considerate approach was also taken when it came to replacing the joinery.
The team finished the project with the painting and decorative programme of works. We also fitted new carpeting. Our team had met the brief of the office space upgrade and provided our client with bright and spacious office rooms. We had delivered more comfort to employees and their guests, giving them a better space to be productive in.
One of the challenges of this office space upgrade project was ensuring that the busy, operational environment was not disrupted during the works. Our team achieved this aim by undertaking any noisy, or potentially disruptive, works outside of normal working hours. This meant that employees were not inconvenienced or distracted. Our approach also meant the project was completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of all parties.
