Peabody Cladding
Axis has been contracted by our long-term client Peabody Housing Association to replace Exterior Wall Insulation to 21 mixed tenure flats.
The flats are situated within a 5-storey block, Bristow Court, in Hackney, east London. The cladding here had been previously removed by another contractor.
The scope of works to the front elevations includes: reinstating cladding and insulation to balcony soffits, replacing balcony cladding with non-combustible cladding in a wood effect. The scope of works to the rear elevations includes: removal of remaining cladding and fitting new Rock panel cladding. Because of the proximity of the property to Network Rail’s land, the railway line has to be closed in order for us to install scaffold to conduct works to the rear of the building. Axis has submitted a scaffold design to Network Rail.
The works to the front of the building will continue meanwhile where we will be installing Robo Watch scaffold. The value of this re-cladding project for Peabody is approximately £1.4-1.7m. It is expected to last 34 weeks.
