Rose Court Garden Party: Axis Projects Division Brighten Residents’ Day

On September 13th, a heart-warming garden party took place at Rose Court, a sheltered housing scheme managed by our client, L&Q. Seven dedicated employees from the Projects Division came together to host a delightful event for the residents of Rose Court.

Rose Court is home to independent residents aged 55 and over, who enjoy the comfort of their own homes while having access to on-site support from an L&Q Scheme Manager, as well as shared communal spaces like lounges and gardens. In recent weeks, Axis has been busy carrying out essential kitchen refurbishment works at Rose Court as part of our Major Works Investment Programme with L&Q.

During their time on site, the team noticed that the garden had been somewhat neglected. Several concerned residents raised this issue with Sarah Cooper, our Resident Liaison Officer. In response to the residents’ requests, the Projects Division decided to dedicate a morning to breathe new life into the garden, ensuring it became a vibrant and inviting space.

The team’s efforts included weeding the garden’s borders, painting the wooden tables and chairs, and laying bark to help keep weeds at bay. They also extended a warm invitation to the residents, inviting them to join in the garden makeover process and partake in some well-deserved refreshments and delectable cakes.

The event proved to be a resounding success, with residents and Scheme Manager, Katrina, coming together to appreciate the transformation of the garden. The newly rejuvenated garden is set to become a cherished spot for residents to use for the remainder of summer and future years to come.

Sarah Cooper, expressed her thoughts on the heart-warming event, saying, “It was extremely rewarding—particularly when the residents all thanked us individually for our time and efforts”

Rositsa Kormeva, our Senior Contracts Manager, added, ‘We had lots of fun tidying up the garden and seeing how pleased the residents was the best reward for our hard work.’

Carole McGhie, our Resident Liaison officer, also commented, ‘It was a wonderful day and experience really good feeling that the residents were so appreciative of the overall garden works finished on a really positive note.’

This is a compelling illustration of OV6 in action—a community that embraces our contributions and holds our involvement in high regard.
