Volunteers from Axis help support the creative Charity Arts for All

On Wednesday 4th August Colin Norwood, Projects Supervisor, helped support Arts for All!

Arts for All is a highly creative charity serving the local communities of Tower Hamlets and Hackney. They run structured weekly art therapy sessions to engage people of all ages from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and those with special needs. Through long term support, Arts for All builds confidence, helps people achieve their goals and changes lives.

Having previously supported the charity through the Axis Foundation, CEO of Arts for All, Caroline Barlow reached out to see if any employees wanted to use their volunteering day to help out.

Colin spent the day supporting The Rainbow Art Club, a creative arts and crafts club held once a week for adults with learning disabilities and older people. Each session is relaxed and involves varied creative activities, from painting and drawing to jewellery-making and mosaic work. Commenting on the experience he said:

I had a really great time at Arts for All. I helped a lovely man called Robert to do some stencilling, then took Robert and several others to a museum for the afternoon. I found the whole experience really rewarding and would definitely volunteer there again. – Colin Norwood, Projects Supervisor

It was wonderful having Colin join us. I really do hope that we get more volunteers from Axis! – Caroline Barlow, CEO of Arts for All
