Supporting Young People with Employability Guidance through Construction Youth Trust
This summer, Axis CLC supported the Construction Youth Trust’s two-week summer bootcamp, helping 28 young people develop valuable employability skills.
This programme brought together students aged 17 to 30 from five London boroughs: Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Haringey and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Designed to support young people seeking employment, the programme provided practical careers advice on how to prepare for the workplace.
Three Axis CLC volunteers supported the summer bootcamp across three different events:
- A CV workshop,
- A mock interview session,
- And a meet the employer event.
As a result of the programme, the participants gained a CSCS card and a Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety, alongside essential skills relevant to the sector. Furthermore, one student has already secured a work experience placement with Axis CLC, while other participants are currently in the application process.
Thank you to all our volunteers for sharing their expertise, guidance, and encouragement throughout this programme, and to the Construction Youth Trust for inviting us to take part.
