Sustainable City Charter
The Sustainable City Charter is an innovative, business-led climate action pledge which contains eight commitments for reducing carbon emissions from non-domestic buildings. These cover collaboration, energy emissions, procurement, construction, deliveries, transport, waste and implementation. The Sustainable City Charter aims to build a strong business partnership on climate action across the city, encouraging businesses to lead and collaborate with the council on climate change and sustainability.
Westminster’s businesses and institutions and the world-famous buildings they occupy are historic and help make London the incredibly exciting and vibrant place is it today. However, these buildings also contribute about 70% of Westminster’s total greenhouse gas emissions. Working collaboratively alongside other companies, we aim to reduce these emissions.
Signing the Charter has given Axis access to an evolving toolkit of support, advice and local case studies designed to help us reduce our emissions. We hope that by joining this Charter we can all work to tackle the climate emergency.
