BEBA Partnership
Axis has been accepted into one of the first-ever council-led sustainability task forces. Brentwood Council approved our application to join only a handful of members who meet regularly to improve our actions towards a more sustainable future. The board will work together to reduce CO₂ emissions in the borough by measuring our emissions, creating a baseline and introducing innovative solutions to reduce them. Axis is very proud to be a part of this initiative!
In March 2021, Brentwood Environmental Business Alliance (BEBA) was created to bring together businesses across the borough to improve their environmental performances and to offset their carbon footprint more effectively. The main focus of BEBA is to encourage more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices by providing a platform to collaborate, educate, and create resources that other businesses can benefit from in the future.
The board currently consists of Brentwood council and 12 companies across various industries. We feel privileged to be part of the board after a competitive selection process that involved many great organisations.
It’s really great to see our clients develop a board of talented organisations to make a difference and improve the future – Axis Sustainability Manager, Oliver Refson
Studies have shown that the business sector in the UK produces around 18% of the total CO₂ emissions annually, with an estimated 59.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emitted in just 2020 alone. This exemplifies the critical necessity for groups like BEBA to bring together local businesses within the area to help each other to achieve a more sustainable future for all businesses.
