Axis Apprentices’ Welcome Event introduces our new recruits to our Executive Team and Divisional Managers as well as their fellow Apprentices.

The Apprentices’ Welcome Event morning starts with half an hour of networking when the new Apprentices get to know one another while also having the opportunity to talk Directors and Managers, including Founder and CEO John Hayes, Managing Director of Maintenance Tim Hayes and Managing Director of Projects Joe Ibrahim.

At our 2019 Axis Apprentices’ Welcome Event CEO John Hayes reminded the new starters: “Starting today, you are on a journey of excellence.”

Michelle Workman, Axis Apprentice Co-ordinator, said: “The new 2019 apprentices all fully participated in the morning, making it a great success. The Executive Team gave inspirational talks allowing the apprentices to envisage a career path to great futures. The apprentices seem driven, enthusiastic and keen to learn. We have certainly selected the brightest stars this year. I wish the new 2019 apprentices every success and I cannot wait to watch them develop their skills and knowledge over the coming years.”

Once all the guests have enjoyed the opportunity to meet their fellow Apprentices over buffet breakfast, John, Tim and Joe deliver a series of talks on their own apprenticeship experiences and tell the story of how they built Axis.

“I am very proud to have started my career as an Apprentice Bricklayer, it was a great grounding for a life in construction. It is all our responsibility to pass our knowledge on to the next generation, just as we had it passed onto us by others. We all had to start somewhere and rely on experienced people to train us” –  John Hayes CEO and Founder of Axis

And after our apprentices have started on their training, regular Apprentice breakfast meetings ensure they are part of the family, keep them in touch with colleagues, mentors and Managers and ensure they are at the top of their game receiving the best support training and advice.
