Emergency Gas Mains Replacements for Swan Housing, Bow, east London

Axis conducted emergency gas mains replacements to two block of flats, Milo and Diagoras houses, for Swan Housing to fulfil full compliancy with Manufacturers’ Instructions and Gas Installation at Use Regulations.

After exposing the pipework and disconnecting the gas supply to all 62 meters, our Gas Team replaced all the gas mains supplies from the gas meter rooms to each apartment.

In total our team pulled 4.5 miles of Tracpipe through to each dwelling without a break in the pipework.

We also replaced all the Gas Boilers and Flues to each dwelling and ran cabling containment systems in all communal areas.

Our FRA team checked the communal areas and compartmentation. And Fire Stopping Operatives remained on site working with the gas team.

The emergency works took place in the winter and the Residents were without heating or hot water as we conducted the emergency works. So, into every home, the Axis Electrical Team installed an electric shower and our apprentices delivered an electric oil-filled heater. We not only kept residents safe but kept them warm too.

Swan Housing Association joined Sanctuary as a subsidiary in February 2024. With Swan as a subsidiary, Sanctuary now manages around 120,000 units of accommodation across England and Scotland.
