Axis successfully completed an Exterior redecoration contract for our new client Gateway Housing Association in six months.
We conducted our Exterior Redecoration programme across 58 properties in two blocks: 34 residential flats in Constant House on Harrow Lane and 24 residential flats at Holmesdale House on Poplar High Street. Both residential blocks are in Poplar, East London, E14.
Our Exterior Redecoration services improved windows and doors as well as the external areas of the properties, resulting in a better, functional and more attractive living space for residents. Specifically, we replaced existing windows and meshed screens to the communal areas with powder-coated aluminium double glazed windows.
We washed down both blocks, replaced the walkway and stairwell floor coverings which had failed and replaced existing flat entrance doors with fire proof door sets. We also painted the pillars. Our Mechanical and Electrical Services provided a full refurbishment of the communal facilities, specifically: a communal kitchen, communal male toilet, DDA toilet, and complete new electrical and plumbing installations. The M & E team also upgraded external paving.
Due to both sites’ proximity to busy high streets, Axis implemented a safe system so as not to impede pedestrians and traffic, using elevated platforms (rather than scaffolding) whilst undertaking the works.
Whilst Axis’ teams were conducting the Exterior Redecoration works for Gateway, our CI team worked with our client to transform an unused communal space into a community hub for residents.
