Project Details
After several years of Nelson’s Corner’s offices being vacant, Axis was awarded this office building conversion project by Greenwich Hospital. Our heritage team have been tasked with turning four Grade II* listed properties into modern apartments. We were located in the heart of Greenwich high street and the with the transformation of 6 properties undertaken over a period of 12 months.
One of the more premium properties comprised of an apartment spanning across three-floors with an outdoor terrace. Another property included a basement suite, with the remaining properties converted into multiple flats all with a high-end finish.
The team began work on each property with a structural demolition, rebuild and restructuring programme in accordance with new internal designs. We then installed new kitchens and bathrooms with sound boarding flooring and bespoke cabinets. This came alongside all new fire safety works which completed the internal refurbishments. Our team then moved onto extensive external works. We provided stonemasonry repairs and brick repointing alongside leading work, coping stones, roofing and re-decoration.
Axis’ refurbishments and office building conversion works were in keeping with the original design of the historic buildings, to maintain the originality of the properties. This included sensitive repairs to the original beams and bannisters within each property, creating a feature within some rooms.
