Planet Mark Certification: Reducing Our Mark On The Planet

We are proud to announce Axis Europe has become Planet Mark Certified for the second year in a row!

Our Carbon Emissions

We have measured our business carbon emissions across Scopes 1 and 2 since 2021. Over the last year, we saw a huge growth as a business, growing by 28% and despite this large growth our emissions only grew by 3.1% as a whole. Whilst we are aiming to reduce our emissions we are also growing as a business.

We are excited to announce we decreased emissions in 5 out of the 6 key areas:

• Building emissions have decreased by 9.3%
• Business travel emissions have decreased by 12.6%
• Waste emissions have decreased by 44.8%
• Water emissions have decreased by 24.5%
• Procurement emissions have decreased by 10%

Unfortunately, fleet travel emissions have increased by 4.6%. This is something we are aware of and are currently trying to reduce.

About Planet Mark

Planet Mark is a sustainability certification which recognises continuous improvements, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals. In order to be certified with Planet Mark we are required to measure and reduce their annual carbon emissions associated with business operations by a minimum of 2.5% every year. This process helps us understand and optimise the carbon associated with energy, travel, water, waste, and procurement.

Protecting rainforests

Through our partnership with Planet Mark, we are proud to be helping protect endangered rainforests through Cool Earth – a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Planet Mark’s support of Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

Overall, we hope to continue our partnership with Planet Mark and to reduce our emissions each year.
