Project Details
Starting Point is central to the local community, offering facilities including a training room, three offices, kitchen/dining area, disabled WC, gents WC, ladies WC and external garden space/courtyard. It is used for diverse local groups including training centres, colleges, and small businesses.
To encourage more people to use the hall, our community centre refurbishment project included full internal redecoration and renewal of carpets and white goods in the kitchen as well as garden clearance.
Internally, we washed down all the walls and applied mist coat and two full coats of emulsion paint. We also completely replaced the carpet in the communal areas, meeting rooms and front office as well as all the blinds. Externally, Axis repaired the faulty automatic front door, dismantling and refitting it, renewing ironmongery, renewing sealants and refreshing decorations.
Additional external refurbishments took place in the courtyard where we brushed down and power washed wood and stone to remove weeds and moss. And we additionally painted the courtyard with two coats of decorative wood stain and replaced the garden furniture here.
Axis completed two other L&Q Community projects, at Winsor Park and the Seddon Centre.
