Project Details
Our heritage division began with full redecorations to both facades, they had limited access to the rear elevation. We completed a programme of high-pressure brick cleaning, and repairs were made to the slate and asphalt roof.
Our team also redressed the lead flashings and pointing as part of the roof works. We completed masonry repairs with careful consideration because of the need to match the new brickwork and pointing to the original building façade. During this, the team carried out specialist repairs to the original stone and render scroll detailing. We eased and adjusted sash windows, and timber repairs were completed with appreciation given to resident’s availability.
Our team’s careful planning was crucial because of the central location and extremely busy pedestrian traffic through the project. We had to ensure the foot-flow to the commercial property was maintained throughout the project. We worked out-of-hours where possible, particularly for quiet work such as painting at street level.
The team erected bespoke hoarding as per the tenant’s request, in a colour-matched gloss paint. We also added temporary signage to the hoarding in order to maintain the brand identity of the commercial premises and encourage footfall during the works. We employed a specialist signwriter to recreate the shop signage. Our team also kept to the strict deadlines of this heritage building repair project. We had to complete works before the start of the busy Christmas period, in an effort to minimise disruption to trade throughout the project.
