The project combined building fabric repairs, internal refurbishment and mechanical and electrical upgrades within a single coordinated programme. Careful sequencing enabled the installation of a new MVHR system, air conditioning, intelligent lighting and electrical improvements alongside refurbishment works, ensuring efficient delivery and a high-quality finish.
With the youth centre vacant during the summer holiday period, works were completed without disrupting community activities. Regular communication with Westminster City Council ensured effective project coordination, while energy-efficient building services and the donation of a new sound studio delivered lasting value for both the client and future community users.
Innovations, challenges, solutions
Careful planning and close collaboration enabled a complex refurbishment and M&E programme to be delivered efficiently and without disruption.
